This was a thoroughly enjoyable (and hot) winter break in West Africa, featuring a wide range of new species for us, including lots of exotic African residents, and wintering Palearctic migrants.
Special highlights included Long-tailed Glossy Starling, super-tame Hooded Vultures, Oriole Warbler, Green Hylia, Spotted Eagle-Owl and (up country) White-backed Night Heron, White-crested Tiger Heron, Sudan Golden Sparrow, and many, many more.
