A very enjoyable winter week on the Canary Islands. While we were based on Tenerife, we "twitched off" for two days to Fuerteventura for African Houbara, Cream-coloured Courser, Black-belled Sandgrouse and, naturally, Canary Islands Stonechat. Tenerife itself did the business, with both endemic pigeons, Berthelot's Pipit, African Blue Tit, both Canary Islands and Tenerife Blue Chaffinches, Plain Swift, Island Canary and a host of endemic subspecies, some of which might get split in the future. We even saw a vagrant Blue-winged Teal!
