Finland and Norway,
May - June 2000

A fabulous journey to the taiga and tundra of Arctic Europe, taking us well north of the Arctic Circle and into the land of the midnight sun. We saw almost the full suite of owls, including Ural, Great Grey and Northern Hawk-Owls, and mouthwatering selection of other boreal specials: Hazel Grouse, Red-flanked Bluetail, Siberian Jay, Siberian (Grey-headed) Tit, Gyrfalcon, Steller's and King Eiders, White-billed Diver, Brünnich's Guillemot, and a range of breeding birds we only see as migrants in the UK, such as Long-tailed Skua, Spotted Redshank, Lapland Bunting, Horned Lark, Bluethroat and many more.
